Which SIM Card Should You Buy for a Kids Watch?
Kids GPS smartwatches use Nano-SIM cards. In Georgia, there are three main carriers: Magti, Silknet, and Cellfie. Here's a comparison of each.
Magti
Widest 4G/LTE coverage in Georgia. Best compatibility with GPS watches. Works well in Tbilisi and across regions.
- ✅ Wide 4G coverage nationwide
- ✅ Stable connection with GPS watches
- ✅ Prepaid and monthly plans available
Silknet
Silknet's 4G network is stable, especially in Tbilisi and larger cities. Fiber customers may get combined discounts.
- ✅ Stable 4G in urban areas
- ✅ Combined packages with fiber
- ⚠️ Regional coverage trails Magti
Cellfie
Cellfie (formerly Selfie) offers budget-friendly plans. An affordable option if you live in Tbilisi and surroundings.
- ✅ Low price
- ✅ Good connection in Tbilisi
- ⚠️ Limited regional coverage
⚠️ PIN Code — Must Disable First
Before inserting the SIM into the watch, you must disable the PIN code from a phone. A PIN-locked SIM will not work because the watch has no PIN entry interface.
- Insert the SIM card into a phone
- Go to Settings → Security → SIM Lock
- Disable "Lock SIM card" (PIN is usually 0000 or 1234)
- Remove SIM and insert into the watch
⚠️ VoLTE Limitation
Some carrier SIMs have VoLTE (Voice over LTE) enabled by default. Most kids watches do not support VoLTE, so if calls don't connect, contact your carrier and ask them to disable VoLTE.
SIM Installation Steps
- Turn off the watch
- Open the SIM slot cover (some models use screws)
- Insert Nano-SIM correctly (chip facing down)
- Close the cover and turn on the watch
- Wait 1-2 minutes for network connection
